Dear Friends,
I hope your September has been wonderful already! Today, I'm excited to share:
New song, Heal
New episode of The Sleeping At Last Podcast
Upcoming orchestral shows: Chicago & New York City
New Song: Heal - Out Now
It brings me great joy to tell you that my newest Atlas: III song, Heal is now available everywhere (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.)!
Heal is the fifth song in Atlas: III. A simple and vulnerable song about hope on the other side of loss. I wrote this after a long (and ongoing) struggle with health anxiety, so for me this song is a sort of mantra. It's a reminder that healing is always possible.
"Quiet Magic (Storge)" is the next song in Atlas: III and based on the greek definition of love known as storge: a familial and foundational kind of love.
New Episode
New Atlas: III song = new episode of The Sleeping At Last Podcast! This episode is about how my latest song, Heal was born! It was a bit of a difficult episode for me to record, but I'm grateful to get to share out loud. It's out now everywhere podcasts are available!

I had the privilege of bringing this song to life with the help of the following people:

Lyrics
you remind me that my body
was born to heal before it dies.
i never knew it’d be so easy to
forget that i’m alive.
life is beautiful because
it’s always running out of time.
you remind me that my heart
was born to beat before it dies.
i’ll make a mess and make amends,
give or take, twenty eight thousand days
to try to be remade.
if i suspend my disbelief,
let this magic trick in me
be real and let my body heal.
amen.
as i grow older, i hold tighter
to a world hellbent on change.
i’d be lying if i told you
that i wasn’t afraid.
in the currency of memory,
nothing costs more than pain
but you remind me:
fourteen thousand days or so,
i’m still okay.
you remind me that my body
was born to heal
you remind me that my body
was born to heal over time,
you remind me that my body
was born to heal before it dies,
you remind me,
i’ll make a mess and make amends,
give or take, twenty eight thousand days
to try to be remade.
if i suspend my disbelief,
let this magic trick in me
be real and let my body heal.
amen.
i’ll make a mess and make amends,
give or take, twenty eight thousand days
to try again and again.
i suspend my disbelief.
let this magic trick in me
be real and let my body heal,
amen.
