Dear Friends,
Happy spring! Spring is my favorite. It feels like hope. This fine early spring day, I'm very pleased to introduce you to a new song of mine and a new episode of my podcast ...
"Wave After Wave" is out now! It belongs to my "Mother" collection of songs, which release one at a time until Mother's Day. (Learn more about "Mother" here) Thrilled to share this one with you.
In "Wave After Wave", I examine the ship of Theseus paradox through the lens of grief and I wrestle with the new and constant "what ifs" that now take over much of my mental bandwidth. I've found a deep sense of comfort in processing the grief and pain of losing my mom in writing each of these "Mother" songs and I am so grateful to get to share them with you. I hope that they can offer some kind of comfort, an olive branch, to you too.
Massive thanks to Sharon Gerber and Anya-Katarina Gerber for gracing this song with their strings, to Chris Bethea for mastering and to Joey Chou for the stunning cover art!
Proud to share a new episode of The Sleeping At Last Podcast! In this episode, I have the privilege of sharing all that went into my new song "Wave After Wave" and to continue talking through my experience with grief.
Hope you enjoy "Wave After Wave". The next song in my "Mother" collection is called "Some Kind of Heaven" and it'll release in April. Thank you for listening!
Huge Love, Ryan
